Paolo Guglielmini has been appointed CEO of MSC Software in October 2017, after leading the acquisition from Hexagon AB in 2017 and the subsequent integration phase. Since joining Hexagon in 2010, Paolo served in multiple roles in business development, product management and M&A, ultimately as EVP of Business Development. He has been highly instrumental in leading Hexagon's evolution from a leader in dimensional metrology to a provider of software-centric quality solutions across the lifecycle. Previously, Paolo served as Consultant at Accenture in the Technology practice and Project Leader at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research). Paolo holds an MSc. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the IMD Business School.

Brian Shepherd

Brian Shepherd is currently senior vice president for software solutions at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and CTO of MSC Software. In these roles, Mr. Shepherd has the responsibility for the coordinated strategies and synergies across the application software portfolio of Hexagon MI addressing the lifecycle quality initiatives for discrete manufacturers operating in the Industry 4.0 era. Previously, Brian Shepherd held several different executive roles at PTC over 20 years including leadership of product management, the worldwide product development organization, and the enterprise PLM business segment. Prior to PTC, Mr. Shepherd served for ten years at Nortel Networks as a member of the scientific staff and a manager of product integrity.

Doug Neill, VP Product Development

Doug Neill

Mr. Neill, with over 25 years of experience in engineering and engineering methods development, is recognized internationally as an expert in aeroelastic optimization. Mr. Neill began his career at Northrop Grumman, where he developed interdisciplinary structural optimization tools that were applied in the design of a number of air vehicles including the High Speed Civil Transport, the Naval variant of the YF-23 fighter and several high altitude, long endurance platforms. With both senior executive and technical responsibilities for design optimization, aerospace applications, and business development at engineering simulation software companies including Universal Analytics (UAI), The MacNeal Group, and MSC Software, Mr. Neill has extensive expertise in Multi-Disciplinary (MD) finite element solver development and in the architecture of the MD framework for the integration of NASTRAN, Marc, Dyna and Dytran technologies. Mr. Neill holds a Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington.

Keith Hanna, VP Marketing

Appointed in 2018 as Vice President of Marketing, Dr. Hanna brings over 25 years of experience in the CFD, CAE, EDA and PLM industries, spanning a wide range of global technical and marketing roles inside Siemens PLM, Mentor Graphics Corp., ANSYS Inc. and Fluent Inc. His career prior to engineering simulation included practical experience of the metallurgical and mining industry at Br. Steel and De Beers. He has both BSc and PhD engineering degrees from the University of Birmingham in England and is a respected commentator on the CFD/CAE industry, a pioneer of CFD in sport, and a former member of the Executive Committee of the International Sports Engineering Association.

Mr. Downey has over 30 years of experience in Product Development & Manufacturing Engineering Sales and Consulting services. He has extensive experience in building compelling value propositions in Automotive and Aerospace & Defense industries while bringing a unique perspective to the Hexagon/MSC technology and service practice. After graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Materials Science & Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, and a Master Degree in Business also from Michigan State University, he worked in Automotive Noise & Vibration consulting and later managed sales and service teams, at Siemens PLM, for their largest Automotive & Aerospace clients. For the past 5 years, he has managed our Strategic Accounts Team that has supported some of our largest Automotive and Aerospace & Defense clients.

Kais Bouchiba, Senior Vice President, EMEA

Mr.Bouchiba is an international executive known for his strategic and operational focus with 20 years of technical, sales and management experience in the CAE Software business. He joined MSC in November 1998 as the Technical Manager in France and demonstrated continuous success in his roles as French Country Manager, EMEA Technical VP, EMEA VP for the Enterprise Business and finally the VP for General Business. Kais is the executive sponsor of strategic relationships with many of MSC's key customers. Prior to joining MSC, Kais spent 9 years with the French Ansys support Distributor where he held the position of Chief Scientist. He holds a Grandes Ecoles Award Master of Science and Engineering Degree from the National School of Electricity and Mechanics, member of the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine.

Takehiko Kato, President - MSC Japan

Mr. Kato is a pioneer in the Japanese CAE market. He has over 25 years experience in the CAE industry and over 30 years in FEM. Mr. Kato started his career with Cray Research Inc. as a Structural Analysis Specialist. During his tenure at Cray and SGI as Marketing Director, Sales Director, and Managing Director, he played a major role in shaping the HPC market in Japan. He later went on to be Executive Vice President of Engineous Software, Inc. and Representative Director/President of Engineous Japan, Inc., covering the Asia/Pacific Region where he consecutively generated more than 50% of the company's worldwide revenue. Most recently, Mr. Kato was the General Manager of SLM Asia/Pacific at Dassault Systemes Simulia Corp. as result of the Engineous acquisition of Dassault Systemes. Mr. Kato is often invited as keynote speaker and lecturer for various academic and industrial institutions. He holds an MS Degree from the Pennsylvania State University and was elected as a fellow member of JSME (Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers) for his contribution on Computational Mechanics and Design Engineering.

As Vice President of Customer Success, Mr. Graff brings more than 20 years of experience in the area of customer support and learning solutions with MSC and Mechanical Dynamics, Inc. Early in his career, after serving in engineering sales support and consulting services roles, he became leader of technical support and educational services division. Focusing on people, processes, and technology to better serve our customers, he effectively manages a global engineering team with best-in-class customer satisfaction that leverages knowledge capture and re-use, optimization of resources through automated routing engines, and modern learning techniques such as self-paced e-Learning with integrated community-based support. He also manages the company's Voice of the Customer program and associated initiatives. Mr. Graff holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University with emphasis in the field of computer-aided engineering.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Janevic leverages 26 years of CAE industry experience with MSC and Mechanical Dynamics, Inc. to his responsibility for operational excellence in sales operations, service operations, customer success operations and a variety of strategic operations such as mergers and acquisitions and Technology Partner programs. In previous roles, Mr. Janevic was Vice President of Strategic Operations, directed business analysis and strategic pricing, and held a variety of marketing and services positions. Mr. Janevic holds an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. degree in Engineering Science from the University of Michigan.

Anish Patankar is the Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for MSC Software. In this position, Anish is responsible for the global IT strategy, infrastructure and services. The IT strategy at MSC Software is based on strong focus on the 4 Cs of Information Technology - Cloud, Consolidation, Compliance and Cost. The IT organization is a global function, leveraging the organization models of outsourcing and off-shore management with an aim to serve needs of a global company. Anish brings to this position 25 years of IT leadership experience in the high tech industry. He has served in various IT leadership positions at Symantec and BMC Software to manage global business systems, technology infrastructure and service management functions. Anish has a bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from University of Mumbai, India.

Hugues Jeancolas, VP, Product Management

With over 15 years working in Strategy, Product Management, and Product Marketing roles in North America and Europe, Mr. Jeancolas brings extensive domain knowledge of Virtual Product Prototyping solutions, Product Life-cycle Management (PLM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). Mr. Jeancolas received a Mechanical Engineering Diploma from the University of Technology of Compiegne, France in 2000 and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston in 2001. He started his career at HKS, Inc renamed Abaqus, Inc, later acquired by Dassault Systemes and joined MSC Software in 2012. As the Vice President for Product Management, Mr. Jeancolas is responsible for MSC's product portfolio and the company's strategic product planning process.

Mr. Zand oversees legal affairs at MSC Software and has served as in-house counsel at MSC Software since 2001. He joined MSC Software through the acquisition of a technology integrator where he served as General Counsel from 1999 through 2001. Mr. Zand earned his Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Whittier Law School. He also holds an MBA from University of Southern California Marshall School of Business where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors.

Diego d’Udekem leads Free Field Technologies, the MSC Software company focused on acoustic, vibro-acoustic and aero-acoustic CAE. During his 12 years tenure at FFT Diego has occupied various management positions including head of customer support, application engineering and global business development. Diego holds a master in electromechanical engineering from the Free University of Brussels (2004) and an International MBA from the Vlerick Business School (2012).

Roger holds a PhD and MS in Aerospace Engineering with a strong focus on nonlinear computational mechanics where he totals more than 20 years of experience. Roger complemented his engineering education with an MBA in International Business and several advanced technology, business and entrepreneurship courses from prestigious universities such as MIT. In parallel to growing e-Xstream to be the world leader in advanced composite modeling, Roger is the Vice Chairman of NAFEMS Composite Working Group and active member of other technical material associations such as SPE and SAMPE.

Dr. Hendrik Schafstall

As managing director and CEO, Dr. Hendrik Schafstall is responsible for leading the company. Together with his partner Michael Wohlmuth, Hendrik Schafstall founded the FEMUTEC engineering firm in May of 1995 - the modern day Simufact Engineering GmbH. Prior to the company founding, he was employed as a research associate at the Helmut-Schmidt-University of Hamburg, obtaining his doctorate researching friction models in cold massive forming. Previously, he was a mechanical engineering student at the Leibniz University of Hannover and received a diploma as a graduate engineer.

Mr. Masayuki Kuba holds a master's degree from Kyoto University and has over 25 years of experience in the CAE industry. Mr. Kuba began his career with Asahi Kasei Corporation, formerly Asahi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd, as a CAE engineer and worked on plant design and residential environment. As a longtime technical leader at Software Cradle, Mr. Kuba has led and supported many user analysis cases, as well as managing the development group for over 10 years and is committed to providing the most reliable and efficient software solutions.

Mr. Dupuis holds a degree as "Diplom" engineer in aerospace from Stuttgart University. He began his professional career in 1995 at Eurocopter, Germany in the field of flight simulation for engineering purposes. Mr. Dupuis co-founded VIRES in late 1996 and began working full-time as General Manager of VIRES in 1998. He has been with VIRES ever-since and is fully dedicated to participating in the development of VIRES software.
