- Attendees were able to gather practical tips from over 80 expert presenters. The experts represented aerospace, automotive, bio-medical, civil engineering, defense, general machinery and various other industries. Presenters shared how they are driving product development, optimizing product performance and shortening the design the manufacture process.

- Attendees had the ability to discover strategies for improving the implementation of People, Process and Technology to streamline product development. They gathered tips for managing collaborating between test and analysis groups to ensure confidence in simulation results. The 2004 VPD Conference offered an extended management track designed for vice presidents and engineering directors on how to successfully implement VPD processes and strategies.

- Special Interest Group sessions joined colleagues with similar interests to highlight engineering processes, explore valuable industry examples and examine the roadmap for VPD and PLM process-based solutions. - Full day of technical workshops featuring hands-on tutorials, how-to lectures, and open discussions. This agenda highlight enabled attendees to learn how to use the latest versions of our SimOffice line of products.

- Expanded Technology Resource Center featuring the VPD Maturity Model (VPDMM) Assessment and VPD Environment Lab. Attendees had the opportunity to meet one on one with professionals on-site to learn how to use VPD techniques and achieve business success. - Vast networking events, including: Alumni Tailgate Welcome Reception; Taste of California Cocktail Reception; Customer Recognition Dinner and Palms Casino night; Birds of a Feather Lunch Tables.
- The highlight of the networking events was the annual Customer Recognition Dinner where companies were recognized for their commitment to the advancement of VPD tools and techniques within their organizations and within the industry. Companies awarded: AIRBUS, ArvinMeritor Inc., Boeing, Butler International, DaimlerChrysler, Dassault Systemes, Eaton Aerospace, Embraer, Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corporation, McGraw-Hill, NASA Glenn, NASA Langley, Newman-Haas Racing, Oshkosh Truck, Polaris, Radian, and Xerox. These companies have made notable contributions in three areas; people, processes and technology.
- Exhibitor Showcase featured over 20 exhibits from our hardware and software partners including a special MSC.Software exhibit demonstrating the latest in VPD software and services, including special stations for MSC.MasterKey and SimOffice.
