International Racing Champion Paul Stewart Named Keynote Speaker at MSC Worldwide Auto Conference

LOS ANGELES/COSTA MESA, August 25, 1999 -  (NYSE:MNS) MSC.Software the world's leading developer of simulation software, today announced that Paul Stewart, deputy chairman of Stewart Grand Prix, will be the featured keynote speaker at the first MSC Worldwide Automotive User Conference. This three-day conference will be held in Munich, Germany, September 20-22, 1999. Mr. Stewart will be discussing the growth of the Grand Prix and the future possible in Formula 1.

Stewart, a former racing driver, established Stewart Racing in 1988 primarily as a vehicle to support his racing career. A winner in Formula Ford 2000 and in Formula 3, Paul also recorded a fine third place in the F3000 race at Pau, France in 1993. His racing portfolio also includes a victory in the GTO class at the classic Daytona 24-hour race at the wheel of a Ford Mercury Cougar, and a Formula 1 test with Arrows in 1993. In 1994, Paul chose to concentrate on team management - a decision whose wisdom is shown in Stewart Racing's record of 132 individual race wins and 13 Championships to date.

In 1996, Paul and his father, three-time World Champion Jackie Stewart, announced the creation of Stewart Grand Prix, the first Formula 1 team to drive race cars designed with a total computer aided design capability. Working with Ford, the team integrated MSC.Nastran and MSC.Patran into the design process to create a more efficient, reliable racecar.

"We at MSC.Software are extremely excited to have Paul Stewart as our featured keynote speaker. Paul's devotion to building cars that integrates motion and simulation technology, to ensure his racing teams have a safer, faster and reliable racecar is unparalleled," said Ken Blakely, senior vice president for MSC.Software.

"We anticipate our first Worldwide Automotive Conference will provide engineers with the same insights and practical knowledge attendees gained at the Worldwide Aerospace Conference MSC hosted earlier this year in California," added Blakely.

More than 220 attendees have already registered for the conference. The papers will give attendees insights and practical knowledge about trends and needs in the automotive industry. All attendees receive a copy of the Automotive Conference Proceedings, a reference and review of the papers presented during the conference.
