MSC.Software Announces Agreement with CENIT AG for European Distribution of SimDesigner
Munich, Germany - November 15, 2003 - MSC.Software Corp. (NYSE: MNS), the leading global provider of virtual product development (VPD) products including simulation software and services, today announced the signing of a sales partnership with CENIT AG, a leading European Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) consulting company, for distribution of the SimDesigner product portfolio. Under the terms of the agreement, CENIT AG will market and sell the SimDesigner product family to engineering and manufacturing customers in Central Europe.
The SimDesigner product line, formerly the MSC.Dynamic Designer and MSC.visualNastran V5i product lines, allows product development teams to test how mechanisms function before they are built, saving manufacturers time and money during the design and testing process. Through the Gold Software Partner Agreement between Dassault Systemes and MSC.Software and the open CAA V5 development architecture, the SimDesigner user interface is a seamless extension of CATIA V5.

The SimDesigner product line allows components and mechanisms to be tested before they are built, saving manufacturers time and money during the design and testing process. The SimDesigner for CATIA V5 product family currently includes Generative products, which embed simulation directly into the CATIA V5 CAD environment and Gateway products, which provide smooth, direct access to corporate simulation resources. Currently, MSC offers the following Generative products: SimDesigner Linear (SDL), SimDesigner Thermal (SDT), SimDesigner Nonlinear (SDN), and SimDesigner Motion (SMO), and Gateways for MSC.Nastran, MSC.Marc, ANSYS, and ABAQUS, as well as in-house proprietary systems using the STEP AP209 standard.
