Santa Ana, CA - May 18, 2004 - MSC.Software Corp. (NYSE: MNS), the leading global provider of virtual product development (VPD) products including simulation software and services, today announced that Segula Technologies, a French engineering company with a global presence in Europe, Argentina and China, have signed a distribution contract for SimDesigner for the Spanish market. With this agreement ABGAM SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES, an IBM and Dassault Systemes Premier Business Partner, can now provide the full suite of the CATIA V5 design solutions and all the integrated SimDesigner simulation tools of MSC.Software.
"The objective of the agreement is to offer CATIA V5 users the integrated solution of SimDesigner," said Henning Staufenberg Director Alternate Channels & Alliances, MSC.Software. "One of the main advantages of this product combination is a time to market reduction - with the possibility of product validation in the early stages of the design cycle. Especially in the aeronautical and aerospace industries, it allows for a cost reduction in the certification process. With the team of Segula Technologies we expect to reach even more CATIA V5 users, whom we expect to profit notably from this alliance."
"As a Premier IBM and Dassault Systemes Business Partner it was only a logical consequence for us to partner also with MSC.Software," said Albert Nacinovic, President SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES Spain. "MSC.Software's CAD-integrated offerings for the CATIA V5 environment are the perfect completion of the CATIA V5 offerings. MSC.Software's SimDesigner product line allows almost any type of simulation to be performed directly within CATIA V5. By bringing together discipline-based products in a unique V5 environment, MSC.Software clearly addresses also our customers' needs for integrated simulation solutions and I am convinced that we will meet all the expectations of our customers and business partners."
