SANTA ANA, Calif. - September 24, 2004 - MSC.Software Corp. (NYSE:MNS), today announced that Louis Greco, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, has resigned as an officer of the company to pursue other opportunities.

MSC.Software has retained an executive recruitment firm and has initiated a search for a new chief financial officer. Mr. Perna will take responsibility for corporate financial matters during the interim period and Mr. Greco will be available to assist in the transition.
