Fincantieri and CETENA Implement MSC.MasterKey License System to Improve Virtual Product Development

Italian Leader in Shipbuilding and Naval Defense Applications Selects MSC.MasterKey License System to Improve Engineering Efficiency and Product Development Processes

SANTA ANA, CA - May 11, 2005 - MSC.Software Corp. (OTC: MNSC.PK), the leading global provider of virtual product development (VPD) technologies including simulation software and services, today announced that the Naval Vessel Business Unit of Fincantieri and the Fincantieri Group R&D Company, CETENA, have implemented the MSC.MasterKey License system at their product development site in Genoa, Italy. Under this new agreement, Fincantieri now has on-demand, flexible access to more than 250 leading software applications including the SimOffice tools MSC.Nastran, MSC.Patran, MSC.ADAMS, MSC.Marc, and many more.

"The growing adoption of the MSC.MasterKey License system is a clear confirmation that our philosophy, both to understand and deliver upon the critical needs of our customers, is meeting with acceptance. Flexible access to integrated VPD technology not only allows engineering organizations to benefit from an expanded simulation capability, but also enables them to better manage their resources, and to coordinate and rationalize their existing processes. Our partnership with customers such as Fincantieri is central to our future strategic direction, and we look forward to helping them to maximize the return from their investment with us," said Amir Mobayen, Senior Vice President, MSC.Software EMEA Operations.

"We are very satisfied with the implementation of the MSC.MasterKey license system," said a Fincantieri spokesman. "Being a long time MSC.Software customer, we have been using MSC.Software tools successfully for many years. With the growing demand of simulation within the company, the access needed to be more flexible. With a team of 30 engineers we needed optimized access to the virtual development tools to streamline our development process. Under the MSC.MasterKey license system, we expect significant improvements in our development departments, because the new flexibility will lead to an increase of VPD-tool usage and to an optimization of our current VPD solutions."
