SANTA ANA, Calif. - September 14, 2006 - MSC.Software Corp. (NASDAQ: MSCS), the leading global provider of enterprise simulation solutions including simulation software and services, today announced the success of the company's Asia Pacific Virtual Product Development Conferences (VPD.) The conferences, held in Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan drew more than 2,000 attendees and provided the opportunity for MSC customers and the global engineering community to learn more about MSC's revolutionary new enterprise simulation offerings including SimXpert.
This year's Virtual Product Development (VPD) Conferences, themed "the evolution to enterprise simulation," are designed to help companies learn how to implement enterprise simulation and to be more competitive by ensuring right-to-market and minimizing time-to-market for products in highly competitive global environments. The APAC conferences featured a particularly strong showing from global leaders in manufactured products. Featured presentations from industry thought leaders and customers included Toyota, Nissan, Casio, Hyundai, Honda, Shanghai Supercomputing Center, IBM, and more. Nissan's presentation focused on how the company is reducing development time and increasing efficiency by using simulation within their powertrain development group to reduce the need for physical prototypes.
"MSC's VPD conferences spotlight strategies to help engineering teams meet the ever-increasing pressure of time, cost, quality, and performance," said Andrew Meyer, Vice President, Corporate Marketing, MSC.Software. "The tremendous success of this year's conferences, where we introduced SimXpert and explored the concept and need for enterprise simulation, is evidenced by the overwhelming customer enthusiasm for the SimEnterprise value proposition."
At the Japan VPD, MSC introduced SimXpert, the third solution in its SimEnterprise product suite. SimXpert empowers engineering analysts to template best practices, improving product and development costs and time-to-market, enabling organizations to accelerate innovation.
The introduction of SimXpert, and SimEnterprise has prompted industry analyst, Charles Foundyller, CEO of Daratech to state that "MSC has seized the initiative in the newly defined enterprise simulation marketplace."
MSC Software's Europe/Middle East/Africa VPD Conference will take place September 20-21 at the Marriott Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany. For more details or to register for the conference visit: http://vpd2006.mscsoftware.com.
