TI Automotive - Focus on design simulation

Design simulation, analysis shortens product development schedules When leadership at TI Automotive -- a global supplier of fuel storage and delivery systems for cars and trucks -- evaluated the company's product development process, t discovered repeated design and test cycles. ... A company can improve its ability to get innovative products to market faster many ways. One of the most effective methods has proven to be the use of design simulation technology.

John Deere - Durability Analysis

With the help of MSC Software Professional Services and products such as ADAMS/Durability and FE-Fatigue, John Deere Welland Works completed the design and testing of their new rotary cutter system within two weeks instead of several months. Thanks to the implementation of durability analysis, John Deere could reduce the number of the required physical prototypes and was able to try out several design concepts. As a result, the total development time on one cutter was reduced from four years to two, and John Deere is on track to produce another cutter in one year.

NASA Glenn Research Center - Rotor Dynamics Simulation

NASA Glenn Research Center is using the new Rotor Dynamics capability in MSC Nastran for engine performance analysis. MSC Nastran Rotor Dynamics provides a standard rotor dynamics code, enabling much faster transfer of data and models, and a more streamlined capability for rotor dynamic analysis. With MSC Nastran Rotor Dynamics, NASA Glenn engineers can calculate maneuver loads for microgravity experiments and perform blade-out analysis, ensuring that the physical test is passed the first time, saving millions of dollars.

Better LEGO's with MSC Nastran and Marc

The LEGO group used MSC Software products in the development of plastic parts to identify problem areas. Different safety tests could be simulated with MSC Nastran and Marc, such as a compression test with Marc nonlinear analysis, or drop tests including linear stress analysis with MSC Nastran. LEGO Group has reduced overall cycle time from concept to finished part, and achieved significant savings in materials.

Bombardier Transportation

Bombardier Transportation has benefitted from the implementation of the MSC.Software product portfolio on a centralized server using the MSC.MasterKey licensing system. Integrating the software across all Bombardier sites enables collaboration both within and between divisions, thus increasing the ability to share technology and methods. Using MSC.Software tools to perform analysis early in the process to make sure that designs fulfill the requirements, Bombardier can eliminate a significant amount of physical testing and the number of physical prototypes, thus saving time and reducing costs.

Fimtextile - Complex Kinematic Simulation in the Textile Industry

Fimtextile used MSC ADAMS and MSC Nastran to analyze new machines and to optimize the dynamics of existing ones. They could simulate the performance and function of the shedding motions before building a prototype and therefore reduce the number of physical prototypes required to verify the design. By using MSC Software Virtual Product Development tools for analysis and simulation very early in the conceptual design process, Fimtextile could optimize its products and design methodology to reduce design and development time and consequently reduce time-to-market.
