for the MSC.ADAMS Community |
At Mechanical Dynamics, we believe you should be able to work in your
native computer-aided design (CAD) environment even as you exercise
the unique capabilities and strengths of virtual prototyping with ADAMS.
Without leaving your CAD system, and with little or no additional training,
you can model not just parts -- and not just static assemblies of parts
-- but entire products or subsystems, with parts that move.
The leading CAD vendors -- as part of our ADAMS Partners Program --
fully embed ADAMS virtual prototyping capabilities in their software.
Are ADAMS virtual prototyping capabilities embedded within your preferred
CAD/CAM environments?

ADAMS works with your finite element analysis (FEA) software in two
ways:
-
The reaction forces you compute with ADAMS can be automatically
transferred to your FEA applications as accurate loading and boundary
conditions.
-
Component flexibility information can be brought from the FEA software
into ADAMS to simulate a system's large-displacement motion behavior,
including the effects of flexible parts.
ADAMS supports a two-way neutral-file FEA interface, as well as custom
two-way interfaces for the leading FEA packages:
** ADAMS/Flex is not compatible with MSC/Nastran for Windows.
If your organization designs systems involving automatic controls --
for example, speed controllers, anti-lock braking systems, or guidance
systems -- ADAMS can help by predicting exactly how the mechanical systems
will function using different control-feedback assumptions.
You can output physical plant models from ADAMS for use with popular
controls design packages such as:
