MSC Nastran 2007 r1 Hardware and Software Requirements


General Notes

  • The plans described here are tentative and subject to change.
  • The OS version is the planned build level. Systems can be expected to run on later OS versions where the provider of the OS advertises upward compatibility. In some instances, later versions are also cited if they warrant special mention.
  • In all cases, the Max Open Core is limited by the user's resource limits and the available swap space.
  • In all cases, the Max File Size is limited by the user's resource limits and the available disk space.
  • All platforms have a default BUFFSIZE of 8193 and a MAXIMUM BUFFSIZE of 65537.
  • All platforms, except NEC, limit the number of users on a single computer using nodelock authorization.
  • DMP versions are expected for all MPI-capable systems.
  • The UNIX MD R2 CDs include the FLEXlm V10.8 server software for HP Alpha Tru64, HP 9000, HPUX IA64, IBM pSeries, Linux, Silicon Graphics, and Sun. The identical software is also available in the Patran CDs.
  • SOL600 and SOL700 are not supported on CRAY, NEC, or Fujitsu
