MSC/NASTRAN V70.5 Through Put Performance

Elapsed time is becoming more critical for many clients. The following chart shows accumulated wall time for five MSC/NASTRAN runs. The runs were submitted on several hardware platforms. VLFDF and VLMMD were submitted batch, then LGMST, LGAST, and VLGST were submitted sequentially in the foreground.

Below is a summary of the test problems. Several models are nonpropriatary and may be viewed by clicking on the model name.

Notes:

  • lmgst, lgast, and vlgst were run sequentially, while vlfdf and vlmmd were running simultaneously.
  • Cray runs were NOT on dedicated systems.
  • HP J5000 runs were on a system with only two CPUs.
