REPLACE ALL SUPERELEMENT SUBCASES WITH S.E. 0 SUBCASE, nosesubca.alt README FILE M. A. Gockel, February 25, 2000 SUMMARY Some postprocessors such as PATRAN provide more convenient output plotting when all superelements have the same subcase ID. A request for one mode shape will be honored across superelement boundaries without reference to subcase IDs. This action is provided with this alter package when using extended subcase structures for input options in dynamic analysis. An extended subcase structure is used when you want to have the subcases for one superelement to be different from that of another, for example, when the METHOD command points to different EIGRL entries for different superelements. INPUT Place "include 'nesesubca.alt'" before the CEND entry. All output requests in the last subcase, used for the residual structure, will apply to all superelements. Output requests in subcases for superelements will be ignored. All output can be turned off for particular superelements by use of the SEDR command above the subcase level. OUTPUT The output requests for the residual structure will produce output for all superelements. For example, disp=all will cause all superelements to generate this output. LIMITATIONS. This alter is not applicable when boundary conditions change between superelments. The alter was tested with the XDB feature, the preferred method for plotting superelement results. TEST PROBLEM. The output from nosesubc1 demonstrates that the subcase id is the same for all output on a small superelement model.
