Alter Name tempmata.alt Purpose To allow the use of temperature-dependent material for higher-order solid elements (HEXA20, TETRA10, and PENTA15) in a SOL 106 run. Note that HEXA20, TETRA10, and PENTA15 are linear elements. Solution Sequence SOL 106. Input Executive Control Include 'tempmata.alt'. Case Control See description in the "Additional Documentation Section." Bulk Data The following parameter is required. PARAM,TEMPMATE,x - where x is the TEMPID that the material lookup is performed for the linear elements. Output Standard SOL 106 output. Limitations With the exception of the GAP elements, no other nonlinear elements are allowed in the input file. Sample Files tempmat1.dat SOL 106 run with TETRA10 and HEXA8 with temperature-dependent material properties. There is no nonlinear elements in the problem. tempmat2.dat SOL 101 run with TETRA10 and HEXA8 with temperature-dependent material properties. Additional Documentation The following table summarizes how the temperature sets are used with the dmap. Physical quantity SOL 101 SOL 106 ---------------------------- ----------------- ----------------------------------- Temperature for material TEMP(MATE) set TEMP(LOAD) set (nonlin elem) PARAM TEMPMATE set (linear elem) Stress free temperature Ref on MATi TEMP(INIT) set (nonlin elem) MATi TREF (linear elem) Temperature for expansion TEMP(LOAD) set TEMP(LOAD) set (all elem) For further information, see error 5331.
