2006r1 and 2005r3 SAMCEF Preference updates to include 2007r1 new capabilities

The patch covers new capabilities available in MSC Patran 2007r1:

• Upgrade "Read Results" capability to Samcef Solvers version 11 and higher (new sampat3 and pat3samcef_files)

The patch covers the following fixes available in MSC Patran 2007r1:

• Fix for reading Code 1440 result type
• Fix for writing Surface/Node Contact boundary Condition in case of "Force All Defaults" option fixed
• Fix for Samcef data file in case of existing 3D Solid Shell property in Patran database older than Patran 2005r3 release

These updates are available for Windows, Hewlett Packard, IBM RS / 6000 AIX, Silicon Graphics and will be extend to SUN if necessary.

Instructions for the Windows Patch (WINNT):

• Pre-requisite: The standard Samcef Preference is already installed in the current Patran installation (Patran 2005r3 or Patran 2006r1)
• Go to the Patran 2005r3 / 2006r1 installation directory (example
  C:\MSC.Software\MSC.Patran\2005_r3):
1. Rename .\samcef.plb in .\samcef.plb.old
2. Rename .\ pat3samcef_files in .\ pat3samcef_files.old
3. Rename .\bin\exe\pat3sam.exe in .\bin\exe\pat3sam.exe.old
4. Rename .\bin\exe\sampat3.exe in .\bin\exe\sampat3.exe.old
5. Rename .\bin\exe\SamcefSubmit.exe in .\bin\exe\SamcefSubmit.exe.old (only for Windows)
• Copy the .gz file into the Patran 2005r3 / 2006r1 installation directory (example
  C:\MSC.Software\MSC.Patran\2005_r3)
• Open the file P3home_<release>_Winnt with WinZip, and extract the archived files to that current directory,
• Move manually new files:
1. samcef.plb from .\P3home_<release>_Winnt in .\. folder
2. pat3samcef_files from .\P3home_<release>_Winnt in .\. folder
3. pat3sam.exe from .\P3home_<release>_Winnt \bin\exe in .\bin\exe folder
4. sampat3.exe from .\P3home_<release>_Winnt \bin\exe in .\bin\exe folder
5. SamcefSubmit.exe from .\P3home_<release>_Winnt \bin\exe in .\bin\exe folder (only for Windows)
• Delete P3home_<release>_Winnt temporary folder

Instructions for the UNIX Package (HP, IBM, SGI):

• Pre-requisite: The standard Samcef Preference is already installed in the current installation (Patran 2005r3 or Patran 2006r1)
• Go to the Patran 2005r3 / 2006r1 installation directory
  (example /MSC.Software/MSC.Patran/2005_r3):
1. Rename ./samcef.plb in ./samcef.plb.old
2. Rename ./pat3samcef_files in ./pat3samcef_files.old
3. Rename ./bin/exe/pat3sam in ./bin/exe/pat3sam.old
4. Rename ./bin/exe/sampat3 in ./bin/exe/sampat3.old
• Copy the .gz file into the Patran 2005r3 / 2006r1 installation directory
  (example /MSC.Software/MSC.Patran/2005_r3)
• Extract the file P3home_<release>_<platform> using Gunzip and the 'tar' command, as follow :

  gunzip -d filename.tar.gz
  tar -xvf filename.tar

• Move manually new files:
1. samcef.plb from ./P3home_<release>_<platform> in ./ directory
2. pat3samcef_files from ./P3home_<release>_<platform> in ./. directory
3. pat3sam from ./P3home_<release>_<platform>/bin/exe in ./bin/exe directory
4. sampat3 from ./P3home_<release>_<platform>/bin/exe in ./bin/exe directory
• Delete P3home_<release>_<platform> temporary directory
