MSC.ADAMS 2005 Service Packs
Description:
Platform specific service packs are provided at the bottom of this page. For the Windows platform, a installation bundle has been packaged that contains and installs all of the Service Packs available. For UNIX, you will need to download and install each product separately. You should download a Service Pack for each platform you have MSC.ADAMS installed on.
Installation Instructions:
INSTALLING ON WINDOWS
- Verify that MSC.ADAMS 2005 has been installed on your system.
- Download the MSC.ADAMS 2005 Windows 2000/XP Service Pack File, adams_2005_r1_SP1_win32.exe available below.
- Double-click the self-extracting executable file to start the installation.
INSTALLING ON UNIX
As Root:
- Verify that MSC.ADAMS 2005 has been installed on your system.
- Download each MSC.ADAMS 2005 product Service Pack for each platform you have installed.
- Download the file, apn_150_3**_<platform>.tar.Z, from the bottom of this page
- Place the archive into the topdir directory of your ADAMS installation.
- To extract the files from the archive type:
zcat apn_150_3**_<platform>.tar.Z | tar -xvof -
where platform is the hardware platform you are currently installing.
- After the archive has unpacked itself, cd into the new service pack directory, created directly under your ADAMS topdir:
cd adams_apn_150_3**_<platform>
where <platform> is the hardware platform you are currently installing.
- Run the install script packaged with the archive.
./install.script
- As the install script runs, it will back up any replaced objects in your installation directory. It puts the replaced object into the service pack directory and appends ".pre_apn_150_3**" to the filename.
- After you are satisfied the service pack is working correctly, you can back up the service pack directory. The service pack directory contains all the objects that existed in your your installation prior to installing the service pack.
- Repeat Step (3) for each service pack you want to install. For your convenience, below are links to each of the README files for each MSC.ADAMS Product. These files state what problems have been fixed and what enhancements have been implemented for each product in this service pack.
