MSC.Fatigue v9.0 Upgrade to MSC.Fatigue 2000

Description
This file upgrades Fatigue 2000 for an existing installation of MSC.Fatigue over MSC.Patran 2000r2. This upgrade will invoke the MAG_WELD and Wheels modules. Note: The items in /* and ending with */ are comments.

Installation
NT Operating System:

1. Please back up original files before replacing any files to safeguard against mishaps.
2. Locate the $P3_HOME directory. This is the directory where MSC.Patran is installed.
   2a) Replace the "pfatigue.plb" file.
   2b) Replace the "app.plb" file.
   2c) Replace the "messages.database" file.
   2d) Replace/add the p3midilog.pcl file.
3. Locate the $P3_HOME/bin directory.
   3a) Replace Pat3fat.exe
   3b) Replace FatigueSubmit.exe
4. Locate the $P3_HOME/mscfatigue_file directory.
   4a) Replace FatigueSubmit.exe
5. Locate the $P3_HOME/mscfatigue_files/bin directory.
   5a) Add / replace the following files...
   "seamw.exe"
   "ferot.exe"
   "pfpost.exe"
   "pfmat.exe"
6. Locate the $P3_HOME/mscfatigue_files/help directory.
   6a) Add / replace the following files...
   "seamw.hqr"
   "ferot.hqr"
   "pfpost.hqr"
   "pfmat.hqr"
7. Locate the $P3_HOME/mscfatigue_files/mats directory.
   7a) Add / replace the following files...
   "nmatsmas.adb"
   "nmatsmas.mdb"
8. Please check the $PATH variable to contain the following directories...
   $P3_HOME/bin
   $P3_HOME/mscfatigue_files
   $P3_HOME/mscfatigue_files/bin

UNIX Operating System:

1. Create a directory to store the contents of the update tar file.
   (i.e., # mkdir /tmp/update)
   
2. Copy the update.tar file to the update directory.
3. Move to the update directory untar the update.tar file.
   (# cd update ; tar -xvf update.tar)
4. Run mscsetup.
   (./mscsetup)
5. As the installation script runs, enter the following:
   Note that the installation process may be halted at any time by entering "X" at any of the prompts. Accept default values by pressing the enter-key.
   
   "y" or enter-key to accept default (to continue with the setup procedure)
   
   "1" or enter-key (to install from the CD-ROM)
   
   enter-key (to use /CDROM location for CD-ROM mount point)
   
   "y" or enter-key (to confirm CD-ROM mount point)
   
   

   pathname

   where: pathname=the location where MSC.Patran 2000 has been installed. Note that the directory will contain the sub-directories bin/, mscfatigue_files/, etc. Note that if an installation of MSC.Patran 2000 is not found, the install script will issue a warning. If this occurs, you should quit the installation and determine the correct location of the MSC.Patran installation.

   
   "y" or enter-key (to confirm use of "pathname")
   
   "1" or enter-key (to install perform the standard installation; i.e., MSC.Fatigue update)
   
   "n" (no contract ammendment is needed)
   
   "y" (to begin the installation)
6. The installation process should now finish normally.
