Groups in Patran ABAQUS are used to create groups of nodes (*NSET) and groups of elements (*ELSET). All the groups created in Patran will be translated as *NSETs and *ELSETs except for the “default_group” which always exists in the database, and group names which do not begin with an alphabetic character (a-z, A-Z).d
