1. Right-click the Patran icon on the PC desktop. Select Properties in the pop up window. The Patran properties window will show up as below.
2. Modify the path in the Start in data box. This directory is where you will open or save your Patran models and all related files. It can be any existing directory, such as C:\patran_works.
3. If you want to see the status of MSC Sinda running, add the “ -stdout” option at the end of Target path: C:\MSC.Software\Patran\2005r2\bin\patran.exe –stdout
4. If you open an existing Patran model by File/Open/Browser or double-click the model name, all the related files will be saved into the directory where Patran model is saved. You are not limited to work inside Start in directory, but double-clicking the model name will not have a DOS window showing the running status.
