1. Make sure Patran and MSC Sinda are already installed and work properly.

2. Insert the MSC Sinda CD and follow the installation steps to install MSC Sinda for Patran.

3. Check the boxes for MSC Sinda for Patran Translator.

4. Make sure the MSC Sinda and Patran installation folders are correct.

5. Select the Patran version that MSC Sinda for Patran will be working with.

6. If only one Patran version is available, the default Patran folder and Patran version option are sufficient.

7. If multiple Patran versions are installed on the same computer, any version can be selected, but Patran folder and Patran version option must be consistent. The default Patran folder and Patran version option is for the latest installed Patran. To install the translator to multiple Patran versions, you need to manually copy the files into the required directories.

8. You can optionally select if the MSC Sinda is the default solver or keep Nastran as the default solver. If MSC Sinda is selected as the default solver, the MSC Sinda preference will automatically be the default Patran GUI.

9. The default settings of MSC Sinda for Patran can be saved in pat2sg.ini file in the P3 home directory. It does not exist unless it was saved by users.

After installation, the following files and folders are added to the system.

In the P3 home directory (C:\MSC.Software\Patran\2005r2)

template.db (rename the original one to be template_old.db

sindag_template.db

init.pcl (rename the original one to be init_old.pcl)

sindag.plb

sindag_files (folder)

In P3_home/bin/exe directory (C:\MSC.Software\Patran\2005r2\bin\exe)
