2D Material Align Axis
The Material Align Axis only works with the CID option. The brackets [ ] indicates optional input. The user can either input a string or select one of the three axis options. The input string can be “Axis x”, “Axisx”, “axis x”, “axisx”, “Coord.x” or “coord.x”, where x = 1, 2 or 3. If a wrong string is input, or the field is left empty, then the default axis “Axis 1” will be used.

If the CID is empty, any input for Axisym coordsys will be ignored as irrelevant. When CID is left empty, it means no material orientation will be performed; it does not mean that CID 0 is used. The following figures show models in which cylindrical orthotropic materials were used.
