Load Cases and Load Input Forms
MSC Sinda for Patran supports both static or steady -state and time dependent load cases. Most load input forms have fields for both steady state part and transient input. Usually the transient fields are to the right of the load input form. If the current load case is steady-state, the transient part is not displayed, and only appears when the current load case is transient. Some load input forms need to be manually enlarged by dragging the right edge to show the transient part.
When a new load case is created, loads in existing load cases are not automatically included. To include existing loads, go to Load Cases/Create/Input Data/… and select the Assign/Prioritize/Load BCs option. This assigns existing load/boundary conditions to the new load case. MSC Sinda for Patran translates only the loads and boundary conditions in the current load case. The scale factors can be added, but not for convection/material option and radiation loads.
If there are no time functions needed, MSC Sinda for Patran can perform transient analysis even if the current load case is static or steady-state. You can set up transient solutions in Analysis/Analyze/Thermal Solution Setup/Transient state setup./ This is unique in MSC Sinda for Patran.
