Contact
Convection contact applies to 2D and 3D target. It has two application regions: the application region (master region) and the companion region (slave region). The combinations of application and companion regions are as follows:

Application Region
Companion Region
2D
2D, 3D
3D
2D, 3D
The 1D or Nodal companion region will be used in another convection load (Coupled Advection load). Another restriction is that the axis symmetric companion region can only connect to the axis symmetric application region.
Contact load does not support the spatial field, it needs at least one whole application region to do the projection analysis.

The contact load can automatically resolve mismatched mesh problem. When two surfaces are connected together, they do not need to match their meshes each other. The companion region projects to he application region and automatically solves the mismatch problem. When a 1D target is used, or when the slave region type is nodal, the nearest neighbor method is used.
Like Convection/To Ambient, fluid material can be used for more complex convection situations. The “convection correlation lib” button is enabled when “input material” option is chosen.
