Radiation/Ambient Space
The Ambient space load supports Nodal, 1D, 2D or 3D target. It simulates the radiation heat loss to an ambient temperature or a node. The ambient temperature can reference a time function. Although the ambient node cannot refer to a time-function directly in the load input form, a Temp(MSC Sinda) load with a time-function can always be applied to the nodeAmbient node can be input as “Node x” or selected from the model using the cursor.
Emissivity and view factors can reference spatial fields. Emissivity can also reference a temperature function. The View factor can be time dependent and reference a time function.
The periodic option is only for the time function of ambient temperature, not for view factor’s time function.
Coating or MLI material can be used to replace emissivity data input. Coating and MLI material contains more parameters. It is not just to replace the emissivity. It contains other optical parameters too.
There are three kinds of coating and MLI materials. Depending on different material inputs, different methods are used for different simulations.
