2.7 SimManager 2010 Integration (Linux/Windows)
The SimManager 2010 integration provides the capability to use SimManager 2010 to publish and/or retrieve files from any Patran Select File menu. This includes the ability to select Patran database files, analysis input files, CAD model files, and results files. It also includes the ability to open the database files directly in Patran. This new capability is supported on Windows and Linux platforms only.
The method of implementation was to incorporate an access button on the Patran file browser widget that would open SimManager 2010. Putting it on the Patran file browser allows all forms of data to be brought into or out of Patran via the file browser (all import and export menus of all analysis preferences) to store or retrieve data from any SimManager vault, thus making SimManager available anywhere in Patran for any MSC Product that needs this technology.
Alternatively publish and retrieve functionality is also available through different Open and Save forms. Patran database can be retrieve from Open and Publish from Save a copy form.
The following variables need to be set or are asked to be set during installation in order to communicate with the SimManager server. For more information on this, the user is directed to the SimManager documentation.
