The Patran 2010.2 Student Edition will be released as part of the MD Nastran Student Edition bundle which should be available for academic use from the MSC website sometime during Q4 of CY 2010. Students with a valid academic credentials can download the entity limited versions from the MSC website. The limitations are: 5000 nodes, 1000 curves, 500 surfaces, and 100 solids.
