The Viewfactor program in the Patran system is designed to facilitate the generation of finite element based radiation viewfactors. These viewfactor calculations are intended to be used as input into the Patran Thermal analysis code, although there should be nothing to stop it from being used in conjunction with other similar thermal analysis codes. It was primarily designed to fill a void in the thermal capabilities of the Patran system and to further expand the potential application of the Patran Thermal module.
