We introduced new MSC communities and a blog to keep you informed, help you network, and give you a voice
MSC's new "Simulate More" blog, including entries focused on our Global Academic Program, was designed to let us help keep you informed, to share our thoughts, and to give you the opportunity to tell us what you think. And our new MSC.Software Communities including forums for technical discussions, Facebook pages, PodCasts, and YouTube clips can help you network, communicate, and keep in touch with other MSC community members.
Discover how MSC software can be used for a variety of simulations related to wind turbines
Learn more by participating in one or more of our webcasts that comprise our Wind Energy Industry Webcast Series – topics range from gear box reliability to composite blade modeling to Using FEA, Motion & Controls together for multi-disciplinary simulations… and more.
See and hear how MSC software can enable numerous types of bio-engineering simulations
Learn more by participating in one or more of our webcasts that comprise our Medical Device Industry Webcast Series – topics range from cardiovascular devices to orthopedic implant design to dental restorative procedures to blood flow analysis… and more.

MSC has created a University Advisory Board to accelerate new technology development
MSC has invited eminent scholars from around the world with expertise in the area of computer-aided engineering and simulation software development to participate in its nascent University Advisory Board (UAB). UAB members will provide technical guidance, share and explore information on commercial trends in engineering software development, and promote best practices. The first UAB meeting is scheduled for June 8 at MSC headquarters in California, USA, and will be attended by academic thought-leaders from every region (The Americas, EMEA, and Asia).
We are sponsoring this year's American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE)
As part of our sponsorship for the 2009 ASEE conference in Austin, Texas, we (MSC) will host a session on June 15 demonstrating how you could use MSC software at your school for various educational & research scenarios related to engineering simulation. Look for more information in the conference proceedings.
Check out the presentations made by course instructors at MSC's recent VPD Conference in Arizona
We created a special University/Education Track at our conference on virtual product development (VPD) in The Americas to enable academic course instructors to share how they are using MSC software to complement their teaching. These academic customers were able to network with engineers in industry, MSC staff, and their peers who are also including software in an engineering curriculum. Their presentations can be viewed online in the VPD Conference Proceedings; a handy link to them is also available in the Faculty Area of our University website. We are also sharing these materials in story form in our University Success Stories section.
Come learn how to use MSC software to complement course instruction at your school!
We recognize that sometimes the most difficult part of incorporating software into an engineering curriculum is to learn how to use it. So again this June, we are offering free training "for university course instructors only" at MSC headquarters in California, USA. You are welcome to attend other commercial training courses from MSC throughout the year, on a space-available basis. But these 2 special sessions are designed to enable course instructors to learn how to use MSC software for FEA or Motion Dynamics while networking with their peers, exchanging ideas, and discussing best practices.
