ACT130 - Introduction to Aero-Acoustics

Length:
1 Day
Pre-requisites :
Engineering degree with knowledge of Acoustics and/or Vibrations. Some knowledge of fluid mechanics or Aero-dynamics will be beneficial but not a must.
Topics:
Course topics will include the use of Actran VI (GUI) and using the Actran acoustics module. Details regarding modelling sound propagation in both confined environments as well as exterior radiation will be presented. The course will cover aero-acoustic modelling using the Light hill formulation with examples on jet noise modelling as well as fan noise modelling. Theoretical aspects related to Stochastic Noise Generation Random will also be presented.
This is a hands-on class with exercises to illustrate the concepts of each section. Upon completing this class, students will be capable of adapting the knowledge gained in the training to develop methods and processes enabling the design low noise products.
