SimAcademy Webinar Archive: Inherent Strain Approach in Marc
This SimAcademy webinar discussion will be on using a different approach to such simulations, based on inherent strains (which contain the summation of the thermal strains, plastic strains, creep strains and phase transformation strains). Using inherent strains, the analysis reduces to an elastic structural analysis, which is much faster than its coupled Thermal/Structural counterpart.
SimAcademy Webinar Archive: Modal Stress Recovery using Adams Durability & Distributed Loads for Linear Flexible Bodies in Adams
A Modal Neutral File (MNF) is a conduit to take reduced model information produced via component modes analysis into multibody dynamics (MBD) software such as MSC Adams. The modal information obtained from an MNF file is used in the MBD software to represent flexibility. This presentation will attempt to describe this process.
SimAcademy Webinar Archive: Advanced Options in Superelements
In this webinar we will discuss MSC Nastran’s advance option to define superelements and how to set up superelement problem for Nastran. This session is NOT a substitute for formal training, many more options and scenarios available with superelements.
SimAcademy Webinar Archive: Isosurfaces in Patran's Insight Tool
Patran’s Insight is an interactive results postprocessing tool that complements Patran’s core Results application. It has been a fixture of the program for a long time. In the 2019 version of Patran, it was ported to the new QT Interface. In this short webinar, we will cover some of the basics of Insight, but we will focus the discussion primarily on Isosurfaces, one of its most useful tools.
SimAcademy Webinar Archive: Modules Instantiation in MSC Nastran
This webinar discusses how Modules can be used to create multiple instances of a primary Module with a process called Module Instantiation. Modules are created to reduce the reliance on the preprocessor for copying, translating, rotating or mirroring an existing primary Module. The enhanced MSC Nastran interface will be demonstrated with a very simple flat plate model which shows how pre-processor modelling time is reduced. Finally, the pros and cons of this approach will be discussed.
SimAcademy Webinar Archive: New Methodology of Bolt Pre-tensioning Introduced in MARC/Mentat 2018 version
Efficient Process of Defining Multiple Bolts with Preload is illustrated. The presentation includes demonstration of the two different bolt pre-tensioning methods available in Marc/Mentat.
SimAcademy Webinar Archive: Uncovering The Gems in Your MSC Nastran Output Files
In this webinar, we will explore the "gems" in different output files generated by MSC Nastran. These files contain clues and little gems of information, which can help us figure out different issues.
