RESEARCH GOALS: Mr. Singh and the research team at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology are researching the temperature distribution, residual stress and fatigue behavior in dissimilar material welding.

METHODS:

MSC RESEARCH ASSIST AWARD: Mr. Singh and Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology have been awarded Marc to simulate the temperature profile and predict the welding behavior when welding dissimilar materials.

BIO: Mr. Singh earned his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 and a Masters of Technology in Production Engineering in 2011 from the Punjab Technical University Jalandhar (PB). He is currently pursuing his PhD in the mechanical department at Sant Logowal Institute of Engineering and Technology. Mr. Singh was recently awarded a fellowship (2012-2014) from SLIET and joined the DAV University Jalandhar (PB) as an assistant professor in the mechanical department.

Mr. Singh is the primary author or co-author of more than 7 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers in the field of welding technology. His current research interests include dissimilar material welding and finite element methods including thermal, structural and fatigue analysis.
