SimAcademy Webinar Archive: FSI Simulation Using MSC Nastran – SOL 700
MD Nastran supports two methods of Fluid Structure Interactions: Open FSI by coupling with Third Party CFD solution Explicit Solution using SOL 700 This presentation will cover FSI simulation using explicit solution (SOL 700) which couples the structural solver from LS-Dyna and fluid Solver in Dytran. The objective of fluid-structure interaction using the coupling algorithm is to enable the material modeled in fluid and Structural meshes to interact. The coupling algorithm computes the interaction between the two sets of elements enabling complex simulations such as Bird Strike, Sloshing, Blast and Airbag analysis.
SimAcademy Webinar Archive: Restart in Static, Dynamic, and Non-Linear Analysis Using MSC Nastran
A restart is a logical way of continuing from a previous run without having to start from the beginning. The savings can be in terms of both time and money. You use some forms of restarts practically every day in your life--perhaps without realizing it. An example of a restart can be as simple as reading a book. Each time that you continue from where you left off is a restart. This analogy can be applied to MSC Nastran. This discussion of restarts is divided into the following sections: Types of restarts Structure of the MSC Nastran input file User Interface for a restart. Restart in Static analysis Restart in Dynamic analysis Restart in Non-linear analysis

SimAcademy Webinar Archive: A Review of Splining for Aero-Structure Coupling in Aeroelastic Solutions
All aeroelastic solutions require that the structural DOFs and aerodynamic DOFs are coupled so that loads and displacements are transferred between the meshes while preserving equilibrium. In this presentation, we will: Review the various spline types and methods available in MSC/MD Nastran Explain the algorithms and show how splines work. Provide usage guidelines and show some techniques for validating splines using examples and demonstrations.
