Problem Description:
As of April 1, 2009, versions of MSC Nastran prior to v2005r2 fail with an error message similar to this example:
NSINIT: *** NSINIT ERROR 70 *** UNABLE TO OPEN UNIT 8
This occurs regardless of the type of license being used.
The cause of this licensing system issue has been identified and product updates are being created and rolled out as available.

Updated 6/24/2009: The original Windows patch that was provided will exhibit the same NSINIT error in the future. The current patch removes all chances of recurrence of this issue. If you updated your MSC Nastran 2001 r4 software on the Windows platform prior to 6/24/2009, MSC recommends downloading and installing the current patch to avoid recurrence. |
